In recent times, we’ve seen a number of cherished establishments on the Isle of Man close their doors. However, whilst you can focus on all that is gone, sometimes one must instead look ahead at what is new.

With this in mind, it seems the island’s culinary scene is experiencing a renaissance, with several new restaurants and eateries opening up to delight both residents and visitors. 

Whether you’re a resident our Tourist to our lovely Island, we’ll take you through some of these exciting new additions and where to find them.


2025 Launches

  1. Porters Kitchen

Located at 50 Broadway, Douglas, Porters Kitchen is quickly becoming a Douglas favourite for its legendary burgers which made it well known at its old location in Glen Helen. Their menu boasts a fusion of traditional Manx ingredients and twists on burger joint favourites such as their Yessir Burger and famous Porters Sticky Ribs.

  1. Kasalo Filipino Cuisine

Kasalo is putting Filipino food on the map in Douglas with its vibrant and soulful menu. From classic adobo to street-food-style skewers, every dish brings bold, authentic flavours straight from the Philippines. Based at the heart of town, Kasalo is a must-try for something genuinely different.

  1. Isola

A fresh addition to the Douglas dining scene, Isola brings a refined Italian touch with rich pastas, authentic pizzas, and bold Mediterranean flavours. Perfect for both casual midweek meals and relaxed weekend dining, Isola is quickly gaining traction as a stylish go-to for lovers of modern Italian cuisine.

  1. Smokey Sams

Soft-launched in early 2025, Smokey Sams at the old Secret Pizza Location in Barrack Square, Farrants Way, offers a proper BBQ experience. With a focus on smoked meats and hearty sides, it’s a must-visit for BBQ enthusiasts, middle of the week meals, and weekend diners in Castletown.

  1. Nourish 

Centrally located in Douglas, Nourish offers health-inspired food boxes that don’t compromise on flavour. Whether you’re grabbing lunch on the go or refuelling post-workout, their menu is designed to energise with fresh, balanced ingredients and vibrant flavours. A great shout for clean eats in the heart of town.

2024 Openings

  1. Kellas

Situated on Bay View Road, Port St Mary, Kellas has garnered attention for its fresh seafood and panoramic coastal views. The restaurant emphasizes locally sourced ingredients, providing an authentic taste of the Isle of Man.

  1. Barbary West Coast and Grill

At 1 Close Beg, Peel, Barbary West Coast and Grill offers a diverse menu ranging from succulent steaks to fresh salads. The modern decor and friendly staff make it a perfect spot for both casual lunches and special dinners.

  1. Barbary North Coast and Grill 

Located in Market Place, Ramsey, this sister restaurant to the West Coast branch brings the same quality and ambiance to the northern part of the island. It’s an excellent addition to Ramsey’s dining scene and the 3rd Barbary Coast restaurant on the Island.

  1. Indian Kitchen by Flavours 

Nestled on East Quay, Peel, this restaurant offers a rich array of Indian dishes, from spicy curries to flavourful biryanis. It’s a haven for those craving authentic Indian cuisine, with a special feature on Visit Isle of Man’s Manx Menu Campaign. 

  1. Velika’s Douglas

Found at Unit 3 Peel Road, Douglas, Velika’s brings South Indian flair to the island using a wide variety of local ingredients. After a successful flagship store in Ramsey, this is their second restaurant that is sure to be a warm and inviting dining experience.

  1. Chengdu Impression Chinese Restaurant

At 18 Broadway, Douglas, this restaurant introduces the bold and spicy flavors of Sichuan cuisine to the Isle of Man. It’s a must-visit for those looking to explore authentic Chinese dishes.

  1. The Grand House

Situated at 35 North Quay, Douglas, The Grand House offers an elegant dining experience with a menu that blends classic and contemporary dishes with a high value menu. The waterfront views add to its charm with lots of bars and pubs in walking distance. 

  1. Smash N Fry

Located at 9-11 Duke Street, Douglas, this eatery first brought a range of burgers, fries, and shake. Since shutting for their rebrand, the team have announced they will be offering a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu that is dropping soon. 

  1. Paramount City Coffee House and Barbers

A unique blend of a coffee house and barbershop, this establishment offers a cozy spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while getting a fresh haircut. It’s a novel concept that’s been well-received by locals situated on Queen’s Promenade in the Famous old Paramount Club building. A well-known spot to Visitors of the Island from a time passed.

  1. Looky’s

Situated within the Best Western Palace Hotel & Casino on Central Promenade, Douglas, Looky’s offers an Art Deco Environment, built in loving memory of Lucas James, a well-known local lad who previously worked behind the old palace bar in the Summer Holidays. It’s an excellent choice for both hotel guests and locals wanting top panoramic views. 

  1. The Garrison (Re-opened) 

At The Parade, Castletown, The Garrison has reopened its doors, with an inspired new menu, and warm and welcoming atmosphere alongside a menu of hearty locally inspired dishes. It’s a beloved spot for both locals and visitors.

  1. Travel Lodge: Set to provide comfortable accommodations for travellers.

  2. Bushy’s: A renowned local brewery expanding its presence.
